DMC / Technics World DJ Championships 2004

UK Finals & Battle for UK Supremacy Saturday 3rd July

Now into its 19th year, DMC and Technics, hosts of the world's most prestigious DJ Championship, have now completed 3 months worth of heats in 6 major cities and are getting ready for the UK Final.
Once again DMC will stage the DMC/Technics UK Final at its spiritual home of the Shepherds Bush Empire, where over 2,000 die hard fanatics will meet armed with a personal opinion
to cast over the 8 competing finalists.
Meanwhile, hundreds of DJ hopefuls have practised to perfect their skills, tightening
that crucial 6 minute routine in an attempt to become a turntable legend like luminaries
such as Cash Money, Cutmaster Swift, Craze, A-trak, Q-Bert and Roc Raida
to name just a few that came and conquered.

This year's event also includes the Battle for UK Supremacy. This fast paced competition
gives the contestants 90 seconds to prove themselves as the UK's best.

UK FINALS 3RD JULY 2004 NEWS RELEASE



DJ Blakey has been crowned UK DMC/Technics Mixing Champion at a hotly contested UK Final at Shepherd's Bush Empire on Saturday night (3rd July). After a scorching set, the judges' decision was unanimous and the London finalist Blakey walked away triumphant
along with a car-load of mouth watering prizes.

In second place was Bournemouth's Muzzell, with bronze going to Dare Devil from Bristol.
Blakey will now go on to represent the UK in the World Finals at the Carling Apollo Hammersmith, London which take place on Saturday 4th (World Team Championship & Battle For World Supremacy) and Sunday 5th September (Individual final) .

Furious turntable combat took place to see Silk Kuts win the Battle for UK Supremacy,
with Matman a deserved runner up.


DJ I-Emerge wins DMC Crown


DJ I-Emerge from New York became DMC/Technics World Champion 2004 last night in a hotly contested final at the Hammersmith Apollo. Second place went to Germany's Rafik with 2003 Champ Dopey coming third. The UK's DJ Blakey came in a respectable 4th.
The team Championship was retained by C2C from France with the Battle for World Supremacy title going to DJ Akakabe from Japan.
