Immaculate Touch @ The Telegraph Saturday 14 April 2007
Review By Steve Tucker

Immaculate Touch have definitely stamped their place amongst London' crème de le crème of nights that ooze quality. Along with there nights around London and their residencies in Marbaya and Ibiza This summer. tonight is no exception. With Bryan Chambers, Subliminal' Gordon Edge The Trumpet Man and Funkinyou' Housaholics headlining proceedings for IT' Baby Blue Party at The Telegraph. The anticipation of this night has had us jumping round all day like a little children on Christmas eve.
After making the most of the pre summer London sunshine and the pre club bars in Brixton i am ready and raring to go and get on it and head on down to South London' little gem The Telegraph. After a short queue and a quick rub down from the polite Door Staff we head on in.

My first port of call is to get another pint down my Swede and then to check out exactly what the new Management of The Telegraph have spent their £2,500.00K on. The venue is looking sweet, plush new leather furnishings, a few tables, light and airy colours, exposed beams and a natural wood flooring that was getting a pummelling from the IT crowd to Boldeelox' Darren Holland fresh back from Miami dropping a mix of Deep Soulful and Funky house.

Around the corner of the huge bar is a large area that's teaming with more funky revellers lapping up the tunage. I drag myself away to check out the back room which has been painted in a deep purple which makes the inflatable IT banners stand out. To my left behind the VDJ is a very swanky seating area that would be ideal for a VIP area and another large bar to the back left.

To the front of the room is the main stage where Sheyi was banging away on his Bongos and the beautiful and talented Immaculate Touch dancers. Who were wearing outfits that left very little to the imagination and certainly distracted my attention from the music.

On the decs was House FM resident Junior mixing seamlessly Vocal led Electro/Funky house with some tough baselines. Up next is Gordon Edge from Mn2S. Who I thought was going to be up on stage dropping rifts over Junior' mixing. But, much to my amazement he was up at the booth mixing and playing the trumpet at the same time which takes the atmosphere to a new high. Now who says men cant multi task.

Itching to get up was SS Radio and Hey Gorgeous resident Rico Novo. To be fare who could blame him the IT crowd were in a complete frenzy by the highlights of the evening and the best was still yet to come. Rico was dropping some tougher dirty baselines mixed with the occasional vocal lead anthem such as Red Carpets' "Alright" and "So Many Times". Yet the highlight was still to come. Walking into the room was Bryan Chambers who was making his presence known, smiling and greeting the IT clubbers as he made his way to the DJ booth. Rico had the job to bring Bryan in with Tom Novy' "Your body".
The Brand new PA system did not let IT or Bryan Chambers down his pure and powerful vocals sounded awesome and was fully appreciated by everyone in the room.

Time seems to be flying us by as with our thoughts about our appearance' as we are in the same state as the walls and ceiling... dripping. Ahh neh bother, you gotta get up to get down and Immaculate Touch certainly helped us do exactly that we leave feeling completely satisfied. Personally though, Immaculate Touch need to move to bigger and more central location as the south could be quite off putting to most discerning of clubbers. But in retrospect, Telegraph have done an awesome job. Having in the past featured the like of Groove Armada and Daft Punk it won't be long before it establishes itself as a sort after
venue by the cities leading promoters once again.
