INTERVIEW
WITH LOL HAMMOND FOR
FRANKIE WILDE FILM
|
|
1.
Why do you feel this film had to be made?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND: This film
had to be made to give credit to Frankie
Wilde, he is the Pele of House music, sometimes
there Come's a individual that is Unique
in his field of work and
that is Frankie Wilde.
|
|
2.
So can you tell us what kind of tracks are
featured on the 2 CD's?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
You
will hear tracks from Reflekt, Shapeshifters,
Deep Dish and
Doublefunk feat Frankie Wilde ?
|
|
3.What
can you tell us about Frankie Wilde?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
he lived his life to the full, there
was never a time when he said that enough
in fact he only stopped when he collapsed.
The Happy Mondays duo Shaun & Bez met up
with him at a gig in Ibiza in a back stage
room, he was with 3 Japanese women with
his pants down lighting his farts and every
time he lit a fart the women would all clap
and explode in laughter, think that was
the first time anyone has shocked Shaun
& Bez who's reaction was You crazy fucking
bastard; and left him in the room with the
3 Japanese women. Who else in this world
could shock Shaun & bez?
|
|
4.Where
is Fankie Wilde today?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
Who Knows, he's
a bit like the Lockness Monster he gets
spotted from time to time and there are
sure a lot of rumors going around as to
his whereabouts. Boy George spotted him
in Thailand 2 years ago, he turned up at
a Full Moon Party with his face painted
green and of course he was up to all his
old tricks. Some say he is in India and
has joined some kind of movement but this
is just one of many rumors Maybe one day
he will appear out of nowhere?
|
|
5.Hold
on a minute lets get this straight, you
have made a film about Frankie Wilde, yet
you don't know where he is? Come on is this
for real? So does he know there is a film
made about him?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND: Yes
this is for real, he truly has vanished
if you take the time and do some research
you will read exactly what I have been saying
, He has vanished! Ha Ha, you know I was
just thinking to myself maybe someone should
put up a reward say £10000 for the
first person to find him, knowing him he
would probably get some Japanese women to
find him, take the cash and vanish again
ha ha. He did e-mail us; I LOVE YOU ALL
FRANKIE WILDE
|
|
6.
Did you ever hear Frankie Wilde DJ & was
he really that good on the decks?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
I was one of the
lucky ones to hear him play, and yes he
really was that good. He was the master
on knowing how to play to the crowds, he
drove them insane.
|
|
7.
I see you got Paul Kaye to play Frankie
Wilde, and can't help notice from pictures
of
Frankie Wilde that they look alike?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
They could be brothers
that's why we made sure to get hold of Paul
kaye, it was a huge bonus for the film to
find a actor that looked similar. In fact
we want out of our way to get hold of Paul
Kaye as there was only his name on our list.
Once you watched the film you'll realize
that no other actor could portray him like
Paul kaye does, he was Just perfect for
the role.
|
|
8.
Hey LOL is Paul Kaye really Frankie Wilde?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
Ha Ha, that's a
good one, I have heard all the rumors but
that's certainly a new one I will have to
spread that one about, nice one.
|
|
9.
Where was the film last screened and what
was the reaction?
|
|
LOL
HAMMOND:
The last screening
was on the 26th March at Miami Beach Cinematheque
and everyone went home truly satisfied.
When you see people leaving with smiles
on their faces and chatting away about parts
of the film then want more could you ask
for? I have to say that its a tribute to
everyone who's involved in the making of
the film and a reflection on all the hard
work gone in the making of the film so yes
its really satisfying and I can't wait for
more of the same.

For
Frankie Wilde, whose consummate involvement in
all areas of dance music has made him a
genuine living legend, these are exciting times.
Every stage of his considerably varied career
has seen his music undergo consolidation, change,
and creation anew.
As a DJ, Wilde enjoyed international popularity,
especially in the UK, USA, Australia and the Far
East.
He was a permanent fixture on the Ibiza scene
holding down residencies at no fewer than three
of the islands top clubs - Pacha, Amnesia and
Manumission.
As a producer Frankie has been responsible for
some of the biggest tunes around since dance music
began and successfully navigated the ever-changing
scene as a pioneer and an innovator.
His disappearance from the scene a few years ago
not surprisingly coincided with what many hailed
as the "death of dance music", but Frankie is
BACK with a new album and a new sound.
